"Here's an updated version with that added naturally into the review: --- I came down to Selma to run some errands and asked a few locals where the best BBQ in town was, and they all suggested **Hancock's Country BBQ**, so my friend and I decided to give it a try. Right away, the place had that classic, no-frills Southern BBQ joint feel -- the kind of spot you know has been doing things the right way for a long time. It was busy, which is always a good sign. I ordered the **barbecue plate with coleslaw and potato salad**, and it did not disappoint. The BBQ was tender, smoky, and full of flavor, and the sides tasted homemade and fresh. The coleslaw had a nice balance, and the potato salad was creamy and comforting -- exactly what you want alongside good barbecue. My friend went with a **large bowl of campfire stew loaded with BBQ and fries**, and it was massive. He couldn't stop talking about how hearty and flavorful it was, packed with meat and perfect for anyone who leaves a BBQ place hungry. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick without feeling rushed. Portions were generous, prices were fair, and we both left full and happy. If you're ever in Selma and want authentic, down-home barbecue, **Hancock's Country BBQ** is absolutely worth the stop. The locals knew exactly what they were talking about."

"The Bacon Cheeseburger was great! The fries were unsalted but good and hot. The ribs were good without sauce, but the sauce would make them even better. The spare ribs, cabbage, and baked beans were good. There was no seasoning on the cabbage. Overall, I would recommend that if you are in Selma and have some time, stop by. You will not regret it."

"Service was decent beings they were busy. Ribs tasted like they had been cooked in an oven and sat under a hot lamp. Baked beans top tier, onion rings even better."

"Great food and service. Lots of interesting decor to look at as well. We ate the pulled pork, potato salad, fried pickles, baked beans and fries and everything was great! Fair prices too."

"The quickest I've ever been served BBQ! And absolutely delicious! Talk about getting your money's worth! Based on the menu price, my meal was much bigger than expected! I got the BBQ sandwich with a side of onion rings. The meat was plentiful. So much so that, once I was done wirh the sandwich, I had to eat the rest of the meat with a fork. The meat was tender and full of juices and flavor. The sauce at the table was an extra added bonus. So delicious! The onion rings were really good, too."

"Busy little place which speaks well of the food. Had the BBQ plate with potato salad and baked beans. Thought the potato salad and beans were good. The BBQ was a little watery, but tasted pretty good. One dig is the menu says BBQ and doesn't say what kind of meat it is, something I'd like to know. The price was very reasonable and the service was good."

"Catfish fillets were fresh and flavorful. The coleslaw was delicious, if you like sweet slaw, but not too sweet. The service was great. The atmosphere is unique. I didn't care too much for the camp stew but I'm sure a lot of people do."
